BMW India has launched the 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe 218i M Sport, making it the new most affordable BMW sedan in the country. Priced at ₹46.9 lakh (ex-showroom), this updated model replaces the outgoing 220i M Sport and brings fresh design updates, new features, and a downsized engine for better efficiency and pricing.

What’s New in the 2025 2 Series 218i M Sport

BMW has not only changed the name but also introduced significant upgrades to keep the 2 Series Gran Coupe fresh and desirable in the competitive entry-luxury sedan segment.

Design & Exterior Highlights

  • Kidney Glow Grille – First time on the 2 Series.
  • Frameless Doors – A signature element of Gran Coupes remains.
  • New Headlights – With vertical LED signature.
  • New Tail Lamps – With arrow-like LED graphics.
  • Fresh 18-inch Alloy Wheels – Replacing previous 17-inch RFTs.
  • Increased Ground Clearance – By 19mm for better city driving.

Color options include Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Portimao Blue Metallic, and Brooklyn Grey.

Modern, Luxurious Cabin

Inside, BMW has upgraded the cabin to match its newer offerings. Key updates include:

  • Curved Widescreen Display – 10.7-inch infotainment + 10.25-inch digital cluster.
  • BMW OS 9 – Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay.
  • Veganza Vegan Leather Upholstery – In Mocha and Oyster colors.
  • Panoramic Sunroof, Dual-Zone AC, and Driver Monitoring Camera.
  • Harman Kardon Audio, Digital Key, and extensive ADAS features.

New Downsized Engine

One of the most notable changes is under the hood. The 2025 model swaps the older 2.0L engine for a:

  • 1.5L 3-cylinder TwinPower Turbo Petrol Engine
  • 156 bhp power and 230 Nm torque
  • Paired with a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) for quick gear shifts.

While the smaller engine reduces taxes and improves efficiency, BMW still promises a sporty drive typical of the brand.
